by Office of the State Attorney Fourteenth Judicial Circuit of Florida

BAY COUNTY, FL - Gage Michael Griner, 17, of Southport, was sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading no contest to Second-Degree Felony Murder. Griner, who was 14 at the time of the crime, was involved in a drug-related robbery that led to the death of another juvenile, Savien Craven. During the robbery, a scuffle broke out, and Craven fatally stabbed Jacob Adam Revis, who was attempting to flee.
Craven, who was also involved in the robbery, was convicted of Second-Degree Murder and sentenced to 65 years in prison earlier this year. In addition to the murder charge, Griner received a 5-year sentence for possessing contraband in a correctional facility, which will be served consecutively to his 30-year sentence.
State Attorney Peter Overstreet highlighted the dangers of illegal narcotics, noting the lasting impact of the crime on five families, with one life lost. The case serves as a reminder of the risks associated with drug use and the consequences of violent criminal activity.
