Bay County Secures $200K Federal Grant to Enhance Road Safety: Public Meeting Jan. 16
PANAMA CITY, FL – Bay County was awarded a $200,000 Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant from the federal government to create a safety action plan for improving safety on county roads and will hold a public meeting from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16 about the initiative. The meeting will be held in Room 1030 of the Bay County Government Center, located at 840 W. 11th St., Panama City.
The SS4A program, funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation, supports local efforts to prevent fatalities and injuries. The grant funding is intended to help Bay County create a safety action plan that will offer a clear and comprehensive strategy to eliminate roadway fatalities and serious injuries by identifying the most significant roadway concerns in the community. Toward this end, the public is invited to participate in a short survey to offer feedback about local roadway safety.
