Panama City Officers Respond to Stabbing, Capture Suspect After Fleeing Crash – Investigation Ongoing
PANAMA CITY, FL - Stabbing Suspect Arrested After Fleeing From Officers On January 6, 2025, at approximately 1:25 AM, officers from the Panama City Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance in the 2200 block of Edgewood Drive.
Upon arrival, less than four minutes later, officers discovered 34-year-old Michael Williams, who had sustained multiple stab wounds. Officers began providing immediate medical assistance, and Williams was subsequently transported to a local hospital by EMS. Responding officers relayed that the suspect, 33-year-old Zachary Flowers, fled the scene in a vehicle, and a search of the area was initiated.
Officers quickly located the suspect's vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The suspect fled but lost control of the vehicle, crashing near 13th Street and Lisenby Avenue. With the help of the Panama City Fire Department officers extracted Flowers from the wreckage, and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment before being taken into custody and charged with attempted murder and fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer.
Detectives investigating the incident determined that the victim and suspect had been involved in a domestic relationship, and the altercation was isolated to the two individuals, with no threat to the broader community.
