PANAMA CITY, FL - The Panama City Police Department arrested Jasmine Williams and Aliyah Thomas for grand theft and dealing in stolen property, recovering items valued at over $124,000, following an extensive investigation into multiple thefts involving package deliveries.
On December 4, 2024, the Panama City Police Department (PCPD) received information from the internal security division of a package delivery service, stating that they had identified a theft of four firearms that were intended to be delivered to a local licensed firearms dealer. The stolen firearms were taken on November 20, 2024, and were valued at approximately $1,285.00. Detectives recovered closed circuit television (CCTV) footage, interviewed involved parties, followed investigative leads, and on December 11, 2024, they arrested Jasmine Williams for grand theft of the firearms, forgery, and dealing in stolen property. During the investigation, it was learned that Williams had already sold the stolen firearms, and with the help of a PCPD Digital Forensics Analyst, a suspected purchaser was identified as 24-year-old Aliyah Thomas. The Analyst and Detective located evidence and were also able to link Thomas and Williams to additional stolen property.
Detectives also began analyzing a suspicious incident that involved empty packages being delivered to a local jewelry store. On November 14, 2024, and on November 20, 2024, empty packages arrived that were supposed to contain diamonds and jewelry with an estimated total value of about $135,500. Detectives later
confirmed that Williams was the delivery driver for those packages as well.
On December 19, 2024, an officer was dispatched to a local music store regarding stolen property. The complainant revealed that on December 16, 2024, one of their employees located a guitar at a local pawn shop that they later confirmed was the same guitar that had been missing from a delivery of goods received on October 14, 2024. This case was also forwarded to Detectives for further investigation. Detectives found that Williams was the person who pawned the stolen guitar on the same date it was supposed to have been
delivered to the music store.
On January 15, 2025, the Street Crimes Unit, with the assistance of the United States Marshal Service, located and arrested Williams for theft of the stolen diamonds, jewelry, and guitar, and additional charges of dealing in stolen property. They also obtained more evidence of Thomas’ involvement, who was also located and arrested later that day for grand theft and dealing in stolen property. Detectives recovered several stolen diamonds that have a combined value of over $124,000, as well as the stolen firearms.
Anyone who believes that they may be a victim of not receiving packages should begin by contacting the sender and the shipping service. If after doing so, it is believed that a theft has occurred, they should contact their local law enforcement. This is an ongoing investigation, and anyone with additional information on this case, or any other, are
urged to call the Panama City Police Department at 850-872-3100.
