Panama Country Club Announces 98th Sherman Invitational, the Southeast’s Longest-Running Amateur Event - May 16-18

LYNN HAVEN, FL - Golf enthusiasts across the region are gearing up for one of the most anticipated tournaments of the year—the 98th Sherman Invitational. Proudly hosted by Panama Country Club in Lynn Haven, this historic event is recognized as the longest continually running amateur golf tournament in the Southeastern United States. Set to take place May 16th-18th, the Sherman Invitational promises three days of top-tier competition, camaraderie, and tradition.
The tournament features 54 holes of stroke play, divided into five age-based divisions, offering a competitive field for players of all skill levels. Entry fees range from $285 to $350, with special pricing for members and those providing private carts. Participants will enjoy a complimentary practice round, daily breakfast and lunch, and a Saturday evening dinner with club casual attire. Generous tee gifts, including the signature Sherman shirt, are also included.
Adding to the excitement, a Multi-Brand Demo Day will be held on May 15th, giving players a chance to test the latest equipment before tournament play begins.
The field is limited to the first 192 entries, ensuring a competitive yet intimate atmosphere. The Championship Division winner, returning the lowest 54-hole total score, will be crowned the Sherman Champion. Defending champion Chase “Chico” Blaich is expected to return and defend his title.
Entries open April 1st, with payment accepted on the day of play via cash, card, check, or member balance.
