Jamie Warrick Runs for Lynn Haven City Commission Re-election

LYNN HAVEN, FL - My name is Jamie Warrick, and I want to continue to serve you on the Lynn Haven City Commission. My top three key issues are restoring public trust, fiscal responsibility, and enhancing community planning.
Residents need to feel their voices are being heard, and that the city is forthcoming of information. We need to provide greater transparency and hold our government accountable when they fail to meet standards. Changing the charter to establish a city clerk will help with this, since they serve as a liaison between the community and the city government.
We had some success in driving down the city’s debt, but we need to continue to find areas of efficiency. Currently, we are presented with the budget through a one-on-one meeting with the city manager and finance director mid to late August and then it is voted on in September. This is too late in the process. The vast majority of commissions start creating the budget around May or June, receiving input from department heads, and then discussing priorities. Changing this process will better prepare the city for future costly capital improvement projects such as stormwater and expansion of sewer plants.
The city needs proper guidance to ensure they are fostering an environment where communities can thrive. To do this we need to revamp the Comprehensive Plan and Unified Land Development Code, as it is in dire need of being updated. This will give the vision that the city and commission need to help ensure our community is sustainable, resilient, and vibrant.
As a veteran, integrity has been the cornerstone of my life, and I expect our elected officials to be held to high standards.
I am a veteran, husband, father, patriot, and faithful citizen asking for your support so that I can continue to be YOUR Lynn Haven Commissioner.
