Republican Liberty Caucus of Bay County, Florida, Endorses Ed Young for Panama City Commissioner, Ward 1

PANAMA CITY, FL – The Republican Liberty Caucus of Bay County, Florida (RLC Bay) endorses Ed Young for the position of Panama City Commissioner, Ward 1, after reviewing his detailed Candidate Questionnaire, and conducting an interview. Young, an Air Force Veteran and father of six, and owner of Colonial Construction Group, LLC, wants to, “correct the prioritization of Panama City’s finances and resources and return control of the city government from the ‘well-connected’ to the ‘common man.’” 

Young has a strong knowledge of the applicability of the U. S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights to current issues. He stated, “self-sovereignty overrides state sovereignty; corruption must be removed ASAP; the 3-day waiting period for purchase of firearms should be repealed; if the government has weapons such as semi-automatic firearms, then we should be able to have them; and since Risk Protection Orders violate due process, they should be eliminated.” Young is opposed to Universal Background Checks for private firearm transfers, would support open carry and campus carry as well as removing restrictions on law-abiding gun owners from carrying a firearm into “Gun-Free Zones.” 

Young summarized his decision to run for Panama City Commissioner, Ward 1, stating that, “The time and place is right to enter public service with a balance of experience to offer to those he would serve.” 

When notified of the endorsement, Young responded, “I am very grateful that the only truly conservative Republican group in the county endorses me. I accept your endorsement.” 

Karen Custer, Chairman, RLC Bay, added, “Young is a Christian, conservative Republican who is refreshingly honest, and strongly aligned with RLC Bay’s Purpose, “dedicated to promoting the ideals of liberty, individual rights, limited government and free enterprise.” He has broad experience, including managing budgets and finances, and lives a life of service to the congregation in the church of which he is a member, including helping their youth. We need to elect more people who will support the efforts to clean up corruption in our cities.”
