The GollyWhopper Classic Fishing Tournament Returns to Mexico Beach

MEXICO BEACH, FL – A Reel Good Time for a Great Cause!  The much-anticipated GollyWhopper Classic Fishing Tournament is back and bigger than ever! Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 21st, and join us for an action-packed day of competitive fishing, family-friendly fun, and generous cash prizes — all in support of the Mexico Beach Fire Department 501(c)(3).

Anglers from around the region will set out in pursuit of the biggest catch, with weigh-ins scheduled from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM on tournament day. 

Whether you're competing or cheering from the sidelines, the GollyWhopper Classic is a must-attend event for fishing fans and families alike.

The excitement kicks off the night before with our lively Captain’s Party on Friday, June 20th at 5:00 PM.

Participants can enjoy great food, drinks, and camaraderie as they gear up for the big day. Tournament registration will be available during the Captain’s Party, and preregistration is open now at the Mexico Beach Welcome Center.

All tournament proceeds go directly to the Mexico Beach Fire Department, helping fund essential lifesaving equipment, training programs, and community outreach efforts.
