Millville US 98 Beautification Project Set to Transform Gateway Entrance

PANAMA CITY, FL. -- The City of Panama City’s Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is excited to announce the launch of the US 98 Millville Beautification Project, a collaborative landscaping and enhancement initiative designed to create a more welcoming and visually appealing gateway to the community near Whittington Park. After the approval of the Florida Department of Transportation’s
(FDOT) $250,000 grant in July 2024, the planning and permitting phase was completed, and now the project is ready for construction to begin on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. This significant project, a partnership between FDOT and the Panama City CRA, focuses on planting Florida-friendly vegetation along both sides of US 98. The goal is to transform the corridor into an inviting entrance that reflects the natural beauty and vibrant spirit of the Millville District.
“With this project, we are proud to showcase our commitment to sustainable and attractive community development,” said Jonathan Hayes, Executive Director of the CRA. “Enhancing the gateway not only improves curb appeal but also creates a greener, healthier environment for residents and visitors alike.”
