Ask Anne - Assisted Living Facility

Question: As I write this, I’m selling most everything and moving into an Assisted Living Facility. Family thinks I should be happy and grateful, but I’m too numb to feel anything. I’m not a people person, so how will I survive?

Answer: Isaiah 46:4 tells us that in your old age, God will sustain you.  But even if you are not a person of faith, try to look for the good: Food will be prepared for you. Laundry will be done for you. Your room will be cleaned for you. You will meet all types, social butterflies and curmudgeons. All manage to coexist. No one is going to force you to do anything, but there will be lots to do and interesting people to meet. Your choice.  I pray for life to be happy and joyful. Again, your choice.
