PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL – Sheriff Tommy Ford announced the arrest of a Panama City Beach woman after a search warrant revealed numerous animals in her home either dead or suffering from neglect.
Information was received and a case opened into the possibility of animal neglect at a residence on Junipero Avenue on Panama City Beach. A search warrant was obtained and BCSO investigators executed it on December 3, 2025.
As investigators opened the doors to the home, the strong odor of animal waste made entry difficult. Investigators found a cage with three dead birds inside. There was no food or water for the birds. There were cats inside the home and several dogs. Two labradoodles were locked inside crates in the home and had not been let out of their crates for long periods of time, sometimes up to several weeks. The crated dogs were severely malnourished with no food or water in their crates and were standing in their own waste.
Bay County Animal Control responded and took six cats and three dogs from the home. BCSO investigators made contact with Brooklyn Patterson, 20 years old, owner of the animals in the residence on Junipero Avenue. After speaking with investigators, she was charged with three counts of Aggravated Animal Cruelty and two counts of Animal Cruelty.
