Summary:

This is semi-skilled work in the operation of heavy vehicles and equipment to construct, maintain or repair City-owned facilities and properties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.

Operates knuckle boom loader to load truck with yard debris or other waste material.

Operates backhoe, trencher, and tractor to excavate, spread and level earth.

Operates front-end loader and forklift to load trucks.

Operates various types of mowing equipment to maintain City right-of-ways, easements, and grounds.

Operates street sweeping equipment; both mechanical and regenerative.

Drives dump trucks to transport, dump, and spread material.

Separates paper, plastic, rubber, and metal from yard debris.

Keeps accurate logs of materials loaded and transported.

Performs operator’s maintenance on vehicles and equipment.

Performs other duties as assigned.
