97th Sherman Golf Champions at Panama Country Club

LYNN HAVEN, FL - The Panama Country Club staff had a wonderful time hosting the 97th Sherman Invitational. We would like to say a HUGE thank you to our volunteers, that helped us in so many places throughout the event like scoring, announcing, hole in one watching, and registration. I would also like to give a big thank you to our sponsors: Panhandle Credit Union, Sonnys BBQ, C21 Commander Reality, Brock Lawn and Pest Control, and Remsco, and all of our other sponsors and donors. We couldn’t put on such a memorable event without your help.

To recap the Championship flight, we are excited to announce our 97th Annual Sherman Invitational Champion Chase “Chico” Blaich. Our overall champion was -6 for the weekend shooting 70, 71, and a final 68. After Matt Sowell makes an unfortunate double bogey on 13, Chico takes a 2 shot lead over member Dalton Humphrey and 3 over member Matt Sowell. Chico on 14 gets tough lie in the bunker and hits it over the green then has a fantastic up and down to save par and maintain his lead. After that Chico and Dalton had a steady finish of all pars through the “Squirrels Tail” and Chico clinched a two-shot win for his first Sherman victory.

Our other champions include John Mulrain of the Super Seniors division, member Mike Brown of the Legends Division, Gage Golden of the Open Division, member Rob Maddox of the Senior Division and member Larry Arnold of our Legacy Division.
