Bay County’s Home Chef Shines in National Cooking Competition

BAY COUNTY, FL - Despite not making it to the finals, a local chef from Panama City has plenty to celebrate after an impressive performance in a prestigious national cooking competition, Carla Hall Presents Favorite Chef. Carla Hall is on the lookout for the next culinary icon who will win $25,000, appear on the cover of Taste of Home, and cook with celebrity chef Carla Hall.

The chef, Tina Sain, competed against over 92,000 other contestants and made it to the semifinals, where she battled it out with 143 other talented chefs.

Throughout the competition, the chef consistently finished first in her group, showcasing her culinary skills and creativity. In the semifinals, she competed against accomplished chefs, cookbook authors, food truck owners, and fellow home cooks. Despite not advancing to the finals, Sain is proud of her accomplishments and the personal growth she experienced during the competition.

"I couldn't be more proud," the chef said in a statement. "This journey was one of great personal growth for me. I was pushed to learn new cooking techniques, stepped well out of my comfort zone, and completed a television interview without fainting."

Sain also expressed gratitude to her supportive family, friends, and community, who provided a security net of encouragement throughout the competition. She credited her journey to the valuable lessons learned along the way, including the importance of overcoming fears, chasing dreams, and never giving up.

"I am extremely proud of competing in Favorite Chef. I am extremely proud of being instrumental in helping raise funds for the incredible James Beard Foundation. I am extremely proud of you," the chef said, addressing her supporters.
