Creating the Scene - Singer-songwriters in Bay County

BAY COUNTY, FL - Panama City Beach is known for Spring Break, summer vacations, beach, bars and music. You many not know there is a great group of independent musicians and songwriters in the Bay County area. On November 1st, songwriters will be performing from 4pm - 10pm at Moseys Downtown. Admission is $15 and ten singer-songwriters will be showcasing their original work. It's magic when you hear a new song for the first time and these artists will not disappoint. Two of the artists being featured are Matt Law and Michael RJ Roth.

Matt Law is passionate about original music here on the Emerald Coast. He is a career musician and guitar repairman and has played with a variety of local bands such as: Copper Quarter Throwback, Lower Forty Eight, Three Shades of Glass, Chiselfish, Plastic Cactus, New Delta Special, The Usual Suspects, Sled Creek Troubadours, Turtlefoot, Fourth Street Band and The Ruckus.

He released one solo blues album " Acoustic Blues Revival" and created an album of original songs called "99 Days". He hosts the Flying Dog Open Mic, plays in the duo Love Truck with his wife, Valerie, and plays double bass with folk and blue performer Corey Hall. Corey and Matt recently won the International Blues Challenge in Pensacola, FL put on by the Blues Society of Northwest Florida. Michael RJ Roth moved to Panama City two years ago. After a career in the Foreign Service took him around the world, he settled in Panama City, FL.

A songwriter whose songs are known for their intriguing imagery, Michael is the lyric winner of the USA Songwriters Competition, the NSAI/CMT Song Contest, the Dallas Songwriters Association, the Austin Songwriters Group the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest and three-time lyric winner of The Great American Song Contest.
