Reminder About School Bus Safety
BAY COUNTY, FL - As the new school year is in full swing, Bay District Schools (BDS) is eager to reconnect with parents, guardians, and students. Classes began on August 12th, 2024, it's crucial to remind everyone about the safety of our students traveling to and from school daily.
“School bus safety is a critical focus for us,” said Superintendent McQueen. “Over 8,000 students rely on our school buses for safe transportation daily. Ensuring their safety requires unwavering support and attention from our entire community. Our dedicated transportation team works tirelessly to maintain our buses and ensure highly trained professionals drive them. However, we also need help from the public,” he added.
McQueen emphasized that student safety depends on constant vigilance from bus drivers, all drivers, pedestrians, and law enforcement agencies. “It’s definitely a team effort,” McQueen said. “If we all work together, we can ensure the safety and security of all students.”
