BAY COUNTY, FL - Real estate fraud is being reported to the Bay County Sheriff's Office at an ever-increasing rate. The Clerk of the Court's Office is providing a useful service that allows you to register now to receive notifications of any activity involving your property, such as if your property is sold without your knowledge and consent. Contact the Sheriff's office or an attorney if you ever receive a notification that indicates fraud.
In a recent letter from Dan Sowell, Bay County Property Appraiser, there is a notice:
"NEW! Because of the ever-increasing concern about property fraud, you can now sign up for notifications of any activity involving your property. Go to: www.baypa.net to register."
On the home page, there is blue font with red letters that says "CLICK HERE". That is where a person needs to click to register for this free service offered through the Clerk of the Court's office.
