Bay County Seeks Bids for Potable Water Treatment Plant Generator Installation

PANAMA CITY, FL — The Bay County Board of County Commissioners is inviting qualified vendors to submit bids for the installation of a new generator system at the Potable Water Treatment Plant. The project involves providing and installing a 2000 kW enclosed standby-rated generator, or an appropriately sized unit as determined during the bid process by the vendor or electrical engineer.

In addition to the generator, the project includes the installation of duct banks, a self-contained fuel tank and pump (with specifications to be determined by the vendor), and a pre-assembled outbuilding of approximately 500 square feet. The outbuilding, which must comply with Miami-Dade Code, will house the generator and be constructed with openings such as doors, windows, or louvers meeting ASCE 7 standards. The scope of work also includes conduit, wiring, and other necessary appurtenances. The contractor will be responsible for the provision, installation, and testing of all components to ensure adherence to quality craftsmanship and warranty requirements.

Funding for this project may be reimbursed by the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program Project Number 4673-005-R, Contract Number H1062. Vendors are required to familiarize themselves with the FDEM Hazard Mitigation Grant Program guidelines and ensure compliance with both FDEM and FEMA regulations as outlined in Exhibit 4 and Exhibit 5 of the project documentation.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in the Purchasing Conference Room at 840 W. 11th Street, Suite 2500, Panama City, FL 32401. A site visit will follow the meeting.
