Dangerous Pursuit Ends Safely on the Bailey Bridge

BAY COUNTY, FL -   On Sept 22, 2024, a Tennessee man was arrested for multiple violations including fleeing and eluding, resisting without violence, and unlawful concealed carry of a weapon. 
On 9/22/24 a BCSO Deputy who was heading home after a 12-hour shift observed a vehicle that was reported stolen out of Tennessee on Hwy-77 near White Oaks Blvd. The Deputy attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the suspect continued southbound on 77 through Southport leading Deputies on a pursuit with speeds reaching up to 90mph. 
Spike strips were deployed successfully and safely during the pursuit. The vehicle slowed to around 35 mph south on the Bailey Bridge with three rims and one flat tire. Deputies then performed a P.I.T. maneuver on the Bailey Bridge before the suspect had a chance to make it into Lynn Haven. 
With assistance from K-9 and Patrol, Gunner Hillard of Tennessee was arrested and taken into custody. Hillard faces charges in Tennessee for the stolen vehicle and local charges for fleeing and eluding, resisting without violence, and unlawful concealed carry of a weapon.  
Hillard is also wanted for questioning for potential felony charges in Alabama.
