Water Line Break in Millville effecting Panama City and Precautionary Boil Water Notice

PANAMA CITY, FL - We have been notified that a contractor working on a major infrastructure project in Millville has hit a water line at 1st Court and James Avenue, resulting in a water service interruption for folks in that area. This is also impacting Margaret K. Lewis Elementary School. City officials are coordinating with Bay District Schools officials.
The City is currently working to repair the line. Once the service is restored, a precautionary boil water notice will be in effect. Residents may experience discolored water approximately 24 hours after their water has been restored.
This "precautionary boil water notice" will remain in effect until the problem has been corrected and a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.
The City's Public Works Office (850-872-3000) or the County Health Department can answer any questions regarding boil water notices.
