Eight Youngstown Men Arrested During Halloween Sex Offender Compliance Checks
BAY COUNTY, FL - On October 31, 2024, Investigators with the Bay County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with Probation and Parole, conducted Halloween Sex Offender verifications. While Probation and Parole Officers checked the offenders to ensure they were in compliance with their probation, Investigators were checking the offenders to ensure they were in compliance with their registration requirements as stated in Florida Statute 943.0435.
During the investigations into the compliance of the offenders, multiple violations were discovered which resulted in the arrests of eight individuals pertaining to their registration requirements as a sexual offender. The following were arrested:
- Shawn Booth 07/14/1997 of 7010 Jolee Rd, Youngstown
- 1 count – Failure to register as a sex offender
- Eric Coatney 06/02/1985 of 4918 Magnolia Ave., Youngstown
- 1 count – Failure to register as a sex offender
- Jonathan Richard 02/16/1994 of 8238 Klondyke Rd, Youngstown
- 2 counts – Failure to register as a sex offender
- Gary Messick 01/27/1982 of 8238 Klondyke Rd, Youngstown
- 1 count – Failure to register as a sex offender
- Justin Cox 12/04/1988 of 8213 County Road 2301, Youngstown
- 1 count – Failure to register as a sex offender
- Cody Sawyer 04/04/1995 of 12415 Clear Creek Rd, Youngstown
- 1 count – Failure to register as a sex offender
- Sean Jansen 03/03/1993 of 7129 Timber Run Rd, Youngstown
- 2 counts – Failure to register as a sexual offender
- Ryan Walker 11/21/1994 of 7129 Timber Run Rd, Youngstown
- 1 count – Failure to register as a sex offender
