Purple Haze: A Conservation Film Screening Announced

BAY COUNTY, FL -  Nature and bird enthusiasts are in for a treat as the documentary Purple Haze: A Conservation Film, directed by Zach Steinhauser, will be screened at Gulf Coast State College on Thursday, January 16, 2025. This enlightening film delves into the fascinating lives of Eastern Purple Martins, migratory birds that rely on human-provided nesting cavities for survival.
The documentary explores their epic yearly migrations, diets, habitats, and what it takes to become a "landlord" for these unique birds. Viewers will gain insights into conservation efforts and practical ways to support this species.
The screening will be held in the Sarzin Lecture Hall at 6:00 PM. Seating is limited, and attendees are encouraged to reserve their free tickets in advance via Eventbrite or by scanning the QR code on the event flyer.
