Potbelly Sandwich Works Brings Chicago's Favorite Sub Shop to Panama City Beach
PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL - Potbelly Sandwich Works, a beloved Chicago-based chain known for its delicious, handcrafted sandwiches, has officially opened its first location in Panama City Beach. The new shop, located at 100 Bluefish Drive, Pier Park, opened its doors on Columbus Day, marking a new chapter for the Incaudo family.
For Zac Incaudo, the opening of this Potbelly franchise is the fulfillment of a dream he shared with his late father, Daniel Incaudo. Zac moved to Bay County about a year ago, following his parents who chose to retire here. Zac saw an opportunity to bring the renowned Chicago sandwich shop to the Panama City Beach area -- a place where he had always wanted to move to.
A Family Dream, Realized
Potbelly Sandwich Works, which originally began as a small storefront in Chicago in 1977, is known for its warm sandwiches made with freshly baked bread, premium ingredients, and an array of unique and flavorful options. The new Panama City Beach location is a culmination of hard work and vision -- something Zac and his father had always hoped to build together. Unfortunately, Daniel passed away earlier this year, but his legacy and influence are very much present in the new shop's operations.
"He was so involved in the planning and getting everything set up. We worked side-by-side on making this happen, and I'm so grateful that he was able to be a part of the early stages," Zac reflected. "Now, my mom, Lisa, and I are continuing the work together. She's been an incredible support through all of this. We're determined to keep this dream alive for our family."
A New Chapter for the Incaudo Family
Though the opening of the Panama City Beach Potbelly is bittersweet, Zac and his mother, Lisa, are excited about carrying forward the vision his father had for the business. The new shop will not only serve delicious sandwiches but also contribute to the vibrant atmosphere at Pier Park, one of the area's most popular destinations for shopping and dining.
Great Sandwiches, Great Community
Since the opening, Potbelly Sandwich Works has been met with an overwhelmingly positive response from both locals and visitors. The menu, which features everything from the classic A Wreck sandwich (a delicious combination of meats, cheese, and veggies) to seasonal specials and vegetarian options, has quickly gained a loyal following. The warm, freshly-baked sandwiches, paired with Potbelly's signature cookies and milkshakes, are already a hit.
