Wanted Fugitive An Illegal Alien in Custody in Bay County

PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL - Wanted fugitive and illegal alien Dushane Jerome Simon was located and arrested today on Panama City Beach by members of the Bay County Sheriff's Office Criminal and Special Investigations Divisions along with the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
Simon, age 26, was wanted in connection to a gruesome case in Springfield Massachusetts where the victim was robbed, kidnapped, tortured, and ultimately set on fire. Simon fled Massachusetts prior to his trial for his involvement in this case.
The Bay County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division was contacted about Simon on January 15, 2025, by authorities in Massachusetts who were willing to extradite him for these charges if the BCSO could locate him. Surveillance began and Simon was promptly located at an apartment on Panama City Beach.
When law enforcement approached, Simon fled from the BCSO and US Marshal members. Simon jumped from a third story balcony and fled on foot into a nearby wooded area. BCSO Investigators and US Marshal Task Force members quickly pursued Simon, capturing him a short distance away. Dushane Jerome Simon will be booked as a Fugitive From Justice at the Bay County Jail.
An ICE hold has been placed place on Simon, a Jamaican citizen. Simon does not have a valid visa to be in the US and has a prior arrest history. Simon has a final deportation order and will be deported from the country upon his release from custody.
