Panama City Beach Celebrates High School Grads

Panama City Beach is ushering in a new tradition to honor the achievements of graduating high school seniors with a striking display of personalized banners along major roadways within the Front Beach Road Community Redevelopment Area. The initiative aims to celebrate these milestones and recognize the hard work and dedication of the beach's young scholars.
Parents, grandparents, and friends are invited to participate in this program by purchasing banners for their graduating seniors. These banners, priced at $100 each, will adorn light poles along prominent roads and will be proudly displayed until after the graduation ceremony in May. Upon completion, the banners will be returned to the purchaser as a keepsake.
The City is offering approximately 240 banner slots, available on a first-come, first-served basis. These vibrant banners will grace Richard Jackson Boulevard, Front Beach Road, Powell Adams Road, South Thomas Drive, and Churchwell Drive, adding a touch of celebration to these bustling thoroughfares.
Mayor Mark Sheldon expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, highlighting the significance of high school graduation in the lives of young individuals transitioning into adulthood. "Graduating high school is a testament to dedication, perseverance, and hard work," Mayor Sheldon stated. "It's essential that the City recognizes and celebrates the success of our beach students."
The program mirrors the successful Veteran Hero banner initiative and operates through a straightforward process. Interested individuals can fill out the Class of 2024 application form and submit a senior photo. The photo can feature the graduate in a cap and gown, sports uniform, or any professional senior portrait, with digital copies preferred. Payments, either in cash or check made out to the City of Panama City Beach, should accompany the application.
Completed forms, photos, and payments can be delivered or mailed to City Hall at 17007 Panama City Beach Parkway, PCB, FL 32413. Alternatively, they can be emailed to Communications Director Debbie Ingram at debbie.ingram@pcbfl.gov.
The graduation banner program extends its invitation to all graduating high school seniors residing or studying in the beach area. This encompasses Arnold High School students, home-schooled students, and beach attendees enrolled in other institutions.
To cater to diverse preferences, there are three banner styles available. Purchasers are encouraged to specify their preferred style. While the showcased examples are tailored for Arnold High School, banners for other schools will incorporate respective school colors and logos.
The installation of these commemorative banners is scheduled to commence following the removal of Christmas decorations in January. For inquiries and further information, individuals can contact (850) 233-5100, Ext. 2261.
For easy access to program details and ordering forms, a flyer and order form are available for download here and here, respectively. Panama City Beach looks forward to celebrating the achievements of its graduating seniors with this vibrant and heartfelt display across its roadways.
