Callaway Man Arrested for Trafficking In Fentanyl

CALLAWAY, FL - Bay County Sheriff Tommy Ford announced the arrest of Matthew Keith, age 40, of S. Berthe Ave, Callaway, on multiple drug charges including Trafficking in Fentanyl. Among other illegal narcotics, investigators with the BCSO Special Investigations Division (SID) seized 60 grams of Fentanyl and 7.2 grams pressed Fentanyl pills.
 
On Aug. 21, 2024, investigators with SID developed information that Keith was
trafficking in Fentanyl and other narcotics in the Bay County area. A traffic stop was conducted on Keith on 23rd Street in Panama City. A K9 was utilized and gave a positive alert to the presence of narcotics in Keith’s vehicle.
 
During the search of the vehicle, approximately 60 grams of Fentanyl, 7.2 grams of pressed Fentanyl pills, 2 grams of cocaine, 3.2 grams of methamphetamine, Suboxone, Alprazolam, and a firearm with an altered serial number was located in the vehicle.
 
Keith is a convicted felon and was charged with the following charges: Trafficking
in Fentanyl More Than 28 grams, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute,
Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Controlled Substance Without a Prescription (X2), Possession of a Weapon by a
Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Weapon with an Altered Serial Number.
Keith also had a warrant for a Parole Violation.
