Body of Panama City Resident Found in Gulf
PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL -The Bay County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) has identified the body of a man pulled from the Gulf waters on January 23, 2025. The man’s name is Joshua Lee Wilson, a 36-year-old resident of Panama City Beach who had moved to the area from Oklahoma last year.
Responding to a call, BCSO found Wilson’s body in the Gulf on January 23 wearing jeans, a t-shirt, and a jacket. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was identified the following day on January 24.
Wilson’s body has been turned over to the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death. The investigation of Wilson’s death is ongoing, but BCSO does not suspect any foul play at this time.
According to his obituary he worked as an insurance claims adjuster. Josh is survived by his parents, Danny and Tammy Wilson; his sister, Mandy; his fiance, Kenny Alyse; his grandmother, aunts and uncles and cousins. A celebration of his life was held February 1, 2025, at Claremore First Baptist Church in Claremore, Oklahoma.
